Dewey Hodges Tribute

We at AnalySwift are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Prof. Dewey Hodges.  Prof. Hodges was one of the foremost aerospace researchers of his generation and we were honored to have him as one of our advisors.  He also served as the PhD advisor for AnalySwift CTO, Dr. Wenbin Yu, at Georgia Tech.  Prof. Hodges was a genuine and humble person, beloved by his many students, colleagues, and friends, whose lives he changed for the better.  He had a distinguished career in the aerospace field spanning five decades, and he was the originator of the VABS software.  Prof. Hodges’ path took him from being a research scientist at the U.S. Army Aeronautical Research Laboratory at to join the faculty of the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology as a full professor.  Dewey married Margaret Jones on August 14, 1971, and the two raised five sons and enjoyed more than 50 years of marriage.  While we all mourn for a great loss in our field, we also celebrate the great life he has lived and a great legacy he has left.  Prof. Hodges’ obituary can be found at https://www.fischerperimeterchapel.com/obituary/Dewey-Hodges#twform.
