AnalySwift’s VABS Featured in Windpower Engineering & Development

Windpower Engineering & Development is featuring a user review of VABS by National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) structural analyst Qi Wang.  Simulation Software column article “Software Simplifies Simulations of Smart Materials (Blades) and Fast” is found in the May 2012 issue of Windpower Engineering & Development.  The article details the analysis of a cantilever beam with NACA2412 airfoil under thermal loading as an example of how VABS has the ability to analyze a realistic blade structure at an affordable computational cost.  While the 3D FEA took 3 hours, 5 minutes, and 23 seconds to finish the calculations, VABS took only 37 seconds, with excellent agreement with the 3D FEA results along two comparison paths.  Click here to read the full article (Windpower Engineering & Development, May, 2012).
