Video Tutorials

Several tutorial videos related to SwiftComp, VABS, and their related graphical user interfaces (GUIs) have been created by independent parties. While not supported by AnalySwift, several have been embedded on this page for users’ convenience. For future video releases, please subscribe to the Multiscale Structural Mechanics YouTube Channel. Several additional videos are available on Purdue University’s cdmHUB (Composites Design & Manufacturing HUB). The cdmHUB is a collaborative web interface platform designed to enhance and build synergies among the composite community by enabling users to interact 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For additional information, please visit our discussion groups, FAQ, and documentation page.

Users must first create a free account with cdmHUB to view certain resources.

ABAQUS-SwiftComp GUI

This GUI is an open source interface connecting third party software ABAQUS and SwiftComp. In order to use this interface one must have (1) a separate license to the third party software (ABAQUS), and (2) a desktop version of the trial license of SwiftComp (request here).

This GUI can also create inputs for VABS.

ANSYS-SwiftComp GUI

This GUI is an open source interface connecting third party software ANSYS and SwiftComp. In order to use this interface one must have (1) a separate license to the third party software (ANSYS), and (2) a desktop version of the trial license of SwiftComp (request here).

Gmsh4SC (SwiftComp Standalone GUI)

Gmsh4SC (Gmsh for SwiftComp) is a standalone GUI for SwiftComp, which can be used with either the cloud or desktop version of SwiftComp.  Please visit our interfaces page to download this GUI.

TexGen4SC (TexGen for SwiftComp)

TexGen4SC (TexGen for SwiftComp) is an open source standalone program integrating SwiftComp and TexGen to improve modeling of textile composites.  Please visit our interfaces page to download or launch this program.

  • Tutorial for Using TexGen4SC Video is a brief video demonstrating the basic steps in using TexGen and SwifComp to carry out create the geometry and mesh for textile composites.
